This NDE Technician will be reporting to the Quality Manager and taking day to day direction from the department Lead or other delegated authority, the Non Destructive Evaluations (NDE) Technician II will perform day to day activities to include calibrations, NDT practical work, as well as, Non Destructive Evaluations/reporting of results. The Level II Technician accepts and rejects according to known procedures, specifications, and applicable standards.

The Level II NDE Technician must also be familiar with the scope and limitations of NDT applications and test method being used. NDE Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct appropriate NDE tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDE methods of inspection
  • Establish and follow techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
  • Interpret test results and visual indicators
  • Organize and report test results
  • Set up and calibrate NDE equipment
  • Perform specialized inspections
  • May train, coach and mentor new and less experienced co-workers in all aspects of the job
  • Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management and/or Lead
Travel:
  • May be required to support field service work.
Skills and Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility using applicable NDE application and methods
  • Knowledge of ASTM NDE and ISO standards
  • Ability to properly perform calibrations
  • Analytical skills with good judgment to interpret and evaluate results
  • Ability to properly perform calibrations
Education and Training:
  • HS Graduate or Equivalent
  • Technical school or NDE courses taken are a plus.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • Technical certifications in ASNT NDT Level II qualifications/certification
  • Magnetic Particle Testing
  • Eddy Current “ET” or Ultrasonic “UT”
  • Other methods as required.
  • Must maintain valid NDT Level II certification status
