Senior Quality Inspector (1st & 2nd Shifts)
STS Technical Services is hiring Senior Quality Inspectors in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Quality Control Inspector for an on‑site role located in Milwaukee. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong mechanical aptitude and proven experience conducting comprehensive inspections on mechanical systems and integrated electrical equipment. You'll play a vital role in ensuring product quality and reliability while supporting operations in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform inspections on mechanical and electrical assemblies to ensure compliance with internal and customer specifications.
- Ensure all quality documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control team to ensure progress and meet production and shipping timelines.
- Identify and address quality issues that may impact delivery or product performance.
- Maintain visibility of product status throughout the QC and production process.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Participate in corrective actions for non‑conformances and recurring defects.
- Support training efforts and ensure staff are informed of current quality standards and procedures.
- Participate in audits, process reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in updating SOPs, training materials, and inspection protocols as needed.
- 10% Part and component inspection.
- 80% Assembly and final product inspection.
- 10% Process improvements, corrective/preventive actions, data process/analysis/reporting, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality control or inspection in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in power generation, diesel systems, or enclosure manufacturing preferred.
- Welding knowledge is preferred, especially in weld inspection.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, mechanical drawings, and customer‑supplied manuals.
- Ability to read and interpret measurements using rulers, calipers, and other precision tools.
- Skills in MS Excel and Word; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and SharePoint is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with Pareto charts, defect tracking, and process improvement initiatives is a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to write clear and effective corrective actions and follow through on resolution.
- Mechanical aptitude and math evaluation.
- Parts/tools identification test.
- Blueprint reading and inspection simulation.
