Title: Safety Technician

Location: Milwaukee, WI (onsite 5-days/week)

Hire Type: Temp-to-Hire (2 months)

Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment.

The Safety Technician supports Global Power Components’ commitment to providing a safe, compliant, and high‑performing manufacturing environment.

This role enhances safety processes across GPC’s large‑scale fabrication and assembly operations. The Safety Technician helps ensure regulatory compliance, reduces workplace risk, and reinforces GPC’s culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular workplace safety inspections to identify and assess potential hazards.
  • Implement safety plans and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Assist with training sessions for employees on workplace safety procedures and protocols.
  • Assist with Investigation of workplace accidents to determine the cause and make recommendations for future prevention.
  • Assist with maintaining records of workplace safety incidents and track progress on implementation of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Promote safe work behaviors on the production floor and reinforce a strong safety culture.
Requirements
  • Completion of OSHA 30‑Hour training (or willing to obtain).
  • Bilingual communication ability is preferred.
  • One to two years of hands‑on experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced or high‑pressure environments.
  • Willingness and ability to work all shifts, including weekends if required.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support consistent and effective safety messaging across all levels of the organization.
