We are seeking a Quality Technician to join our team and help drive our continued success. This role plays an important part in supporting our customers, strengthening our business, and contributing to the long‑term growth of Douglas Dynamics.
How You Will ContributeProvide technical and functional support to the Manufacturing Operations team relating to product quality and continuous improvement of processing, equipment, and tooling while adhering to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics.
In this role, you will leverage your skills, experience, and perspective to make a meaningful impact. You’ll collaborate with teammates across the organization, contribute ideas, and help deliver results that matter for our customers and our business.
How You’ll Make a Difference- Perform, develop and maintain quality inspections and tests on products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Utilize instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs (able to operate), to verify dimensions, tolerances and torque tool settings.
- Document inspection results and identify non‑conformities.
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality problems and improve processes.
- Create and maintain quality records and documentation.
- Follow quality management systems and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication or machining.
- Comfortable navigating Windows PCs, Office 365 suite, and Microsoft Teams software.
- Mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, and ratios data analysis.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency using measuring instruments and quality tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Fast‑paced factory environment.
- Exposure to welding fumes, loud noises, and other manufacturing hazards.
- Must wear appropriate safety equipment.
- Fork truck training and license may be required.
