Food Scientist - Dairy Ingredients
Location: Greater Milwaukee, WI area (Onsite)
Our client is a growing food ingredient manufacturer based in the greater Milwaukee, WI area. They are seeking a Food Scientist or Sr. Food Scientist to support research and development efforts focused on dairy-based ingredients, enzyme hydrolysis, and flavor formulation. You will work cross-functionally to drive innovation, product development, and process improvements in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- MUST HAVE 3-5 years of experience in R&D of dairy, flavors, and/or dairy ingredients.
- $100,000 - $130,000 compensation range

- Design and execute laboratory experiments including enzyme hydrolysis, analytical testing, and data interpretation.
- Formulate and optimize food ingredient products using dairy components, enzymes, and functional ingredients.
- Develop and refine analytical methods to evaluate product stability, functionality, and quality.
- Support product development from concept through scale-up and commercialization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, production, and commercial teams to support product performance and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain detailed documentation of experiments, results, and project outcomes.
- Provide technical leadership within the lab, including oversight of lab operations and mentoring of an R&D Lab Assistant.
- 3-5+ years of experience in food science, biotechnology, or related R&D environments.
- Strong experience with enzyme hydrolysis, dairy ingredients, or food ingredient functionality required.
- Experience with analytical testing methods, formulation, and product development.
- Familiarity with FDA, FSMA, and GFSI-related food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with spray drying or related processing technologies a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related field
