Position Overview

This project-focused appointment in quantum computing will support the research program of PI Dr. Dmitri Babikov. The project will focus on the development of a method for the modelling of quantum dynamics of molecular collision processes.

• Carry out computational research in Molecular Physics on the development of quantum computing algorithm for the description of rotational state-to-state transitions during inelastic molecular collisions.
• Write and test computer programs using Python, Qiskit, and FORTRAN.
• Conduct research with a growing degree of independence and work well with others in the lab.
• Provide research summaries and reports weekly and meet regularly with PI to discuss next steps.

• Solid grasp of the principles of Quantum Mechanics, Molecular Physics, and Physical Chemistry.
• Background in quantum information is preferable.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
