Role Description

The Research Associate 1 (Immunoblot/Western blot focus) is a full-time, on-site role based in Milwaukee, WI. This position involves performing immunoblot and Western blot assays, including sample preparation, gel electrophoresis, protein transfer, antibody incubation, data analysis and report writing. The role includes maintaining detailed experimental records, following established protocols, and troubleshooting as needed. The Research Associate will help manage reagents and laboratory equipment, support quality control procedures, and collaborate with scientists to interpret and document results.

Additional duties may include contributing to general lab maintenance, adhering to safety and compliance standards, and participating in team meetings to discuss ongoing projects.

Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with immunoblotting and Western blot techniques, including sample preparation, gel running, and detection.
  • Familiarity with protein expression analysis methods and basic molecular biology or biochemistry laboratory practices.
  • Ability to follow and document standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintain accurate lab notebooks, and manage experimental data.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced research environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with scientists and other laboratory personnel.
  • Commitment to laboratory safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance in a research setting.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Science) or equivalent laboratory experience.
