This project-focused appointment in biochemistry/molecular biophysics will support the research program of PI:
Dr. Nicholas Reiter. The project will focus on methods associated with protein and nucleic acid purification and characterization, and on implementing analytical methods to quantitate oncoprotein-nucleic acid interactions in solution. Relevant publications from the lab related to this topic include: RNA. 22(8) 1250 (2016), Biochemistry 63 : (2024), J. Biological Chemistry 300(9): 107607 (2024).
- Carry out research in Analytical Biochemistry, the improvement and optimization of protocols.
- Design and perform analytical experiments that examine protein-nucleic acid interactions.
- Conduct research at the bench with independence and with senior graduate students, work well with others, and assist undergraduate/graduate students as an active member of the lab.
- Provide research summaries and reports monthly, help to write manuscripts, and meet regularly with PI to complete lab project goals.
Skills And Abilities
- Earned Doctorate (or Its Foreign equivalent) or appropriate terminal degree.
- Must possess strong communication and analytical skills; thorough knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures; and the ability to implement research projects.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours as necessary.
