Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Line Cook will work directly with the Kitchen Manager and is responsible for managing the timely preparation of food items during service, some prep and following recipes and other established guidelines. This position also ensures that all food has been properly prepared according to health safety guidelines.
Line Cook Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure food has been made properly according to recipes and health codes
- Communicate with other cooks, food runners and servers to coordinate various needs, dietary restrictions and 86 items
- Must be able to work positively with all staff members, independently and as part of a team
- Ensure that your station is kept clean, organized and closed properly at end of shift
- General cleaning & maintenance of work areas, complete all assigned daily tasks & organize, put away & rotate orders as needed
- Comply with health and sanitation standards
- Must be able to multi-task and keep calm in high pressure situations and have very strong verbal communication skills
- Basic knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking including grill and sauté preferred
- Ensure food is prepared timely, accurately and consistently
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must be able to multi-task
- Have the ability to work well under pressure and as a team
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Be able to maintain a high quality of friendly and attentive service to our patrons
- Must have very strong verbal communication skills
- This position frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to stand for up to 6 hours at a time.
Must be available to work nights and weekends
