Overview
We're seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.
Responsibilities- Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
- Help customers in a positive, approachable manner; address questions or concerns.
- Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Process all corporate directives, including Pull and Hold, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications.
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
- Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
- Maintain store areas to company standards; protect and secure company assets.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure associates follow policies and procedures.
- Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
- Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the store (restocking bathrooms, sweeping/mopping floors, taking out trash, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store (preferred).
- Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height; frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, repetitive lifting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.

Full time, 4805 Marlboro Pike, Capitol Heights, Maryland . Salary range: $18.50-$19.25 per hour.
Other RequirementsManager may be required to obtain specialized licenses for selling alcohol or tobacco; failure to comply may lead to demotion or separation of employment.
