Pet Retail Manager

Pet Retail Store Closing Manager on Duty
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: 2–3 evenings a week, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM, plus occasional Saturdays, 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Pay: Based on your experience and training needs

Mighty Pet is a local and family-owned and run pet shop — no corporate big box vibes here! We’re on the hunt for an upbeat, dependable evening leader to run the show a few nights a week (and the occasional Saturday). If you love animals, enjoy a lively retail environment, and want to work somewhere that actually feels like family, keep reading — this might be your people.

• Evenings: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 2–3 days a week
• Occasional Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Bonus: no early mornings — this is an evening gig

• Being the friendly face customers (and their pets) see when they walk in the door
• Running the register and handling cashiering like a pro
• Keeping an eye on the sales floor — stock, displays, and making sure everything looks its best
• Leading and supporting the team of retail associates on shift, and being the go-to when questions pop up
• Closing down the store each night — cash count, tidying up, restocking — so tomorrow’s team walks into a store that’s ready to roll
• Handling customer questions or hiccups with patience, a smile, and good judgment
• Helping keep the store clean, safe, and welcoming for two-legged and four-legged visitors alike
• Once you have the sales floor and service down, you’ll learn how to support the rest of the management team with inventory, ordering and some receiving orders.

• Some retail, customer service, or team-lead experience under your belt
• Comfort handling cash and running a POS system
• A friendly, calm, can-do attitude — with customers and teammates alike
• Confidence to run the store solo during your shift and make good calls on the fly
• Reliability and flexibility — evenings, 2–3 days a week, plus the occasional Saturday
• A soft spot for animals (this one’s basically required)
• Able to be on your feet for a shift and intermittentlifting up to 40 lbs (hello, bags of dog food and cat litter!)
