The Vice President of North American Sales is responsible for leading Hatco’s sales strategy across the United States and Canada. This role leads the North American sales team, strengthens relationships with customers and channel partners, and drives profitable growth that supports Hatco’s long-term business goals. The position has responsibility for core North American commercial activity, including regional sales, national accounts, dealers, buying groups, consultants, rep groups, and other key partners.

It also supports Hatco entities as needed to promote alignment, shared learning, and consistent execution. The right person for this role will be a strong commercial leader who can build trust, develop people, bring discipline to the sales process, and work well across the business. This role requires someone who understands that sales leadership at Hatco is not only about revenue.

It is also about protecting the culture, strengthening the team, and creating long-term value for employee owners.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and execute the North American sales strategy in support of Hatco’s business objectives, growth plans, and long-term vision.
  • Lead, coach, and develop regional sales leaders and sales teams to achieve revenue, profitability, relationships, and market share goals.
  • Build a strong sales leadership bench through clear expectations, regular coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Strengthen relationships with key customers, national accounts, dealer groups, buying groups, consultants, rep groups, and strategic end users.
  • Drive new business development while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
  • Create clear strategy and accountability with channel partners, including reps, dealers, consultants, buying groups, and other key partners.
  • Improve sales discipline through regular pipeline reviews, account planning, forecasting, territory planning, CRM use, and performance reporting.
  • Establish sales forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics. Monitor results and adjust plans as needed.
  • Partner with finance and operations to support profitable growth, pricing discipline, margin improvement, product mix, and delivery expectations.
  • Collaborate with marketing to align go-to-market plans, demand generation, customer messaging, trade shows, training events, and sales tools.
  • Serve as a strong voice of the customer by bringing market feedback, customer needs, and competitive insights back to leadership, marketing, engineering, operations, and customer service.
  • Identify market trends, competitive activity, rep and dealer changes, and growth opportunities across North America.
  • Represent Hatco at key customer meetings, rep meetings, dealer and buying group events, consultant meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
  • Promote collaboration across Hatco entities while maintaining clear lines of responsibility and accountability.
  • Model Hatco’s employee-owner culture through integrity, teamwork, accountability, respect, and a long-term view of the business.

  • Strong business acumen with a clear understanding of revenue, margin, pricing, customer relationships, and operational impact.
  • Ability to build trust with customers, channel partners, sales team members, and internal leaders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work across functions and support the broader business.
  • Comfortable using data, CRM tools, market feedback, and financial reporting to make decisions.
  • Ability to lead through change, improve processes, and bring structure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • High personal integrity, sound judgment, and a leadership style that supports Hatco’s culture.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout North America.
EDUCATIONAL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 10 or more years of progressive sales experience, including senior sales leadership responsibility.
  • Experience leading multi-region sales teams and channel-based sales organizations.
  • Proven track record of driving profitable revenue growth and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience with dealers, reps, consultants, buying groups, national accounts, and strategic end users preferred.
  • Experience in commercial food service equipment, manufacturing, durable goods, or another channel-based business preferred.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and data‑driven sales management.
