Summary
The Rental Account Manager is the primary Rental Sales/Marketing function at the BU level, supporting commercial rental and trailer services product lines. The role increases Ryder’s rental sales presence in the BU, generating profitable new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and improving profitability, return on assets, and lease sales productivity.
Essential Functions- Sales
:
Develop leads through cold calls, telephone solicitation, and customer visits. Assess customer needs and develop proposals. Coordinate with rental operations to ensure equipment availability. Market at the branch level and train rental sales representatives in telemarketing. - Customer Retention
:
Maintain contact with customers through visits and phone calls. Handle complaints and stay aware of customer needs and long‑term rentals to retain customers in a price‑competitive market. - Time Administration
:
Prepare proposals and contracts, maintain customer files, coordinate follow‑up correspondence and other BU departments, maintain data integrity in the DPS system, administer credit approval, collections, and update scheduling and PM status. - Scope of Decision Making
:
Follow up within specific time frames, comply with company procedures, and handle collection of past‑due receivables diplomatically.

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent experience
- One year or more sales experience or equivalent training required; three years or more preferred
- One year or more industry experience preferred
Salaried. Pay ranges are confidential and determined by experience, education, location, and internal equity.
Eligible for annual bonus, commission, and long‑term incentive plan based on level and type.
