Position SummaryReporting to the Sales and Service Manager, a Hard Goods Associate is responsible for engaging customers in the Hard Goods areas – Simulators, Putting Green, Club Repair and Accessories – to drive sales and enhance the customer experience. The role involves assisting with front‑end operations such as returns, exchanges and promotions while ensuring merchandise is presented at a premium stock and visual level.
Key Responsibilities- Engage every customer and offer world‑class service by leveraging PGA TS Service behaviors.
- Build lasting relationships that keep customers returning.
- Seek out and engage customers throughout the Hard Goods areas.
- Maintain knowledge of all front‑end operations (returns, exchanges, gift cards, lesson redemptions, loyalty program awards, discounts, promotions, coupons, etc.) and assist when needed.
- Ensure Hard Goods areas are stocked and presented at a premium level to drive sales and customer experience.
- Keep all Hard Goods equipment and supplies maintained and operational.
- Maintain a clean, professional presentation of the Hard Goods area at all times.
- Demonstrate in‑depth product knowledge of golf clubs and explain features, benefits and differences to customers.
- Execute proper customer fittings in accordance with PGA TOUR Superstore trained fitting techniques.
- Assist customers with club fitting, selecting the correct shaft, grip and specifications for optimal performance.
- Stay up to date on upcoming merchandising promotions and marketing events, maintaining a strong merchandising presence throughout the life cycle of a promotion using bulletins on The Links.
- Champion product and service offerings, informing, educating and promoting them to customers.
- Provide consistent feedback to the Sales and Service Manager on operational and merchandising opportunities to maintain a best‑in‑class experience for customers.
- Communication: Strong listening and interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to communicate cross‑functionally.
- Computer: Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Organization: Ability to organize multiple priorities to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Retail sales, customer service or similar experience preferred.
Must be able to stand for extended periods, climb up and down a ladder, move throughout the store, and lift a 30 lb. box overhead.
ScheduleMust maintain flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Business AcumenAbility to quickly learn business acumen with appropriate training.
AccountabilityDemonstrate strong self‑accountability and proactive drive for results.
