  • Evaluates laboratory, patient, financial, and quality data to identify trends and insights that improve workflows, support research, inform business decisions, and reduce cost of care
  • Leverages integrated data sources to identify opportunities for improvement, performance gaps, and outcome measures
  • Designs and implements analytical models combining clinical, financial, and claims data to generate actionable metrics
  • Synthesizes complex datasets into meaningful insights to support leadership decision‑making and lab stewardship initiatives
  • Develops executive‑level dashboards and reporting to support laboratory strategy and performance monitoring
  • Applies technical laboratory knowledge, including test build and clinical utility, within a data‑driven environment
  • Participates in assessments, implementations, and educational efforts supporting laboratory operations and data initiatives
  • Utilizes data‑driven methodologies to support Clinical Lab 2.0 and value‑based care programs
  • Supports enterprise‑wide data collection, analysis, and implementation across laboratory operations and ad hoc initiatives
  • Collaborates with service lines, corporate departments, leadership, and laboratory teams across the enterprise
  • Adheres to organizational policies, compliance requirements, and Code of Ethical Conduct
Major Responsibilities

Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required
  • None
  • MLS Certification STRONGLY preferred
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field
Work Experience
  • Typically requires 3 or more years of relevant experience, including:
  • Understanding of laboratory workflows, testing knowledge, and diagnostic pathways
  • Experience with data collection, validation, and analysis
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, HIPAA)
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Proficiency in clinical laboratory operations and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI, HL7, Python)
  • Knowledge of LIS and EHR systems
  • Working knowledge of revenue cycle processes, billing, and coding (e.g., CPT, ICD-10)
  • Ability to collaborate with researchers to collect, validate, and de‑identify complex datasets
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated collaboration with physicians and leadership
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Self‑directed with a results‑oriented and innovative approach
  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
  • Works in a normal office environment
  • May travel across the enterprise as needed
  • Potential exposure to environmental hazards including mechanical, electrical, chemical, infectious agents, and biological materials; appropriate protective measures required
  • Operates standard equipment necessary to perform job responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications Certification / Licensure
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) certification (ASCP or AMT) - Strongly preferred
  • Additional certifications in billing and coding, project management, or business analysis preferred
Experience
  • Experience with research study processes, IRB protocols, and clinical data validation
  • Medical Lab experience strongly preferred
