Join the MSOE Public Safety Team as a University Services Officer
2nd shift - 4pm to midnight, Sun to Thur
We are seeking a full-time University Services Officer to join our Public Safety team on 2nd shift. The essential function of this role is to provide safety and security for the MSOE campus, including the residence halls and through our student shuttle service. As a University Services Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the MSOE campus remains a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and faculty.

Pay
$18.50/hour
Schedule
- 2nd shift - 4pm to Midnight Sunday through Thursday
- Off days Fridays and Saturdays
- Ability to work overtime and holidays as assigned
- Training schedule may vary slightly

- Monitor the entrance/lobby of the residence halls
- Check the identification of anyone entering the residence halls
- Check in and out guests of MSOE students
- Answer the telephone in the Public Safety Office
- Transport member of the MSOE community to and from locations within the campus shuttle boundaries
- Assist Patrol Officers with building/room access requests
- Assist Patrol Officers with jump start requests
- Check in and out keys to various campus departments and approved drivers
- Monitor the department's video surveillance system
- Compose reports on violations taking place in the residence halls.
- Patrol campus buildings
- Assist the Public Safety Director with updating the Public Safety Department Standard Operating Procedures
- Dispatch the MSOE Campus Shuttle
- Assist with Evacuation Drills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must possess a valid driver's license, be able to drive, and be eligible to drive vehicles per MSOE driving policy
- Previous Public Safety experience helpful but not required.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is largely sedentary, the ability to move is required. The employee is occasionally required to traverse within their work area as well as other areas on campus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to operate a motor vehicle. Must be willing to drive in all types of weather conditions
- The employee must also have the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
