Public Safety Supervisor

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Public Safety Manager, the primary duties of this position are to enforce rules and regulations and maintain order at and in the vicinity of the WCD's three facilities and grounds. The Public Safety Supervisor will monitor all three facilities. This position will also patrol buildings and grounds within an assigned area on foot or in a vehicle; secure and unsecure buildings;
report unusual or suspicious circumstances or conditions; activate and de-activate alarm systems; monitor and report obvious malfunctions in building physical plant mechanical systems such as heating, air conditioning, lighting, water leaks, etc. Provide assistance, directions, and information to WCD personnel and visitors. Detect and report any non-WCD affiliated persons in areas where it is not permissible.
This position will also work a non-conventional workweek and will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:- Secures premises by monitoring surveillance equipment; patrolling property; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
- Monitors loading dock activity to ensure the security of the facility, preventing unauthorized access
- Greets, directs, and assists guests, clients, and employees at the facility or attending an event
- Provides and controls access to facility, show rooms, and meeting rooms
- Monitors and directs vehicle and pedestrian traffic at loading docks
- Patrols all assigned interior and exterior areas of the facility including, but not limited to: public access areas, meeting spaces, stairwells, truck ramps, loading docks, parking garages, exterior staircases, rooftop, and public walks ways
- Works to reduce or eliminate hazards by proactively alerting the appropriate party of any problems
- Assists in monitoring closed circuit surveillance system and indoor alarm panel
- Conducts fire prevention duties such as identifying potential hazards, conducting fire extinguisher inspections, and monitoring computerized fire alarm systems
- Secures the facility at night and opens in the morning as directed
- As necessary dispatches public safety officer and/or supervisor and contacts emergency personnel as needed
- Administers First Aid and/or CPR when required
- Operates hand-held radio and computers
- Investigates complaints and incidents
- Required to prepare written daily logs and reports, perform patrol tours and operate facility life safety systems
- Supervises security patrol staff and contract security
- Preparation of reports documenting activities, time, equipment and supplies
- Enforces WCD and PSD policies and procedures
- Attends work on time as scheduled and adheres to attendance policy
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by management, to ensure the effective utilization of the company's resources and to ensure customer satisfaction
