Position Title: Security Training Specialist (Senior)

Location: Advocate Health Care Corporate;
Milwaukee, WI

Shift: 1st Shift (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, schedule may vary)

• Deliver and refine an integrated, multimodality performance‑management training framework for all Public Safety Officers and security support staff, including new employee training, annual training, remedial/refresher training, new equipment training, new policy/process training, selected caregiving teams with patient and public‑facing interface, and other functional teams with touchpoints to safeguarding people, property, assets, and interests.
• Use advanced knowledge of weapons (firearms, batons, handcuffs, CEW/Taser) to assist in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of programs intended to equip public safety officers for duty.
• Provide operational oversight and administration of the armed public safety officer program including training program development, records management, marksmanship qualification, equipment procurement, and firearms maintenance (armorer).
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert in the physical use of force and weapons (firearms, CEW/Taser, baton, handcuff).
• Design, develop, implement, and oversee simulated scenario‑based training that may include Taser (Axon) virtual reality and full‑scale indoor firearms simulator.
• Use program‑development best practices to design, develop, and implement public safety related training programs across various delivery platforms— in‑person, virtual, computer‑based training, etc. Programs may include active shooter, verbal de‑escalation, and workplace violence mitigation.
• Create and distribute training materials such as manuals, job aids, checklists, response cards, job books, web‑based instruction, etc., and deliver training on their use.
• Deliver training content— including hard‑copy manuals, training aids, simulation software, computer‑based modules, and security awareness materials— to officer and leader level topics such as customer service, post procedures, report writing, patrolling, managing aggressive behavior, policy application, emergency response, evidence handling, organizational effectiveness, risk‑based staffing, incident reporting, performance management, technology integration, operational readiness, program integration, and leadership.
• Collaborate with the training team and manager to develop, refine, and deliver training program root‑cause analyses, survey data, and site visits to understand the operating environment and identify high‑payoff opportunities for locally tailored and system‑wide training.
• Assist in the design and coordination of major training events such as active‑shooter and security‑related emergency response drills and exercises.
• Solicit and analyze feedback to improve training effectiveness via focus groups, subject‑matter experts, and other methodologies; recommend resource allocation and craft policies, procedures, and programs that enhance departmental performance.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state security and risk regulations—including DNV, CMS, HIPAA, and state workplace violence prevention laws—and align with peer/industry best practices.
• Represent Security and Public Safety in various situations, fostering a culture of execution, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team and coordinating with other functional areas.
• Maintain curriculum and modality readiness across web, in‑person, and self‑paced computer‑based learning environments.

• Certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor and Certified Range Safety Officer (or obtain within six months of hire).
