We are in search of a Field Service Technician II to join our growing team. This role will have the knowledge required to test, diagnose, maintain, and repair packaging machinery. It requires a breadth of trade skills and the ability to perform a wide variety of electrical and mechanical maintenance and service work on various types of packaging equipment, including exposure to most Manufacturers Secondary packaging equipment and PLC communications and program modification capabilities.
Responsibilities- Diagnose, identify, and troubleshoot industrial packaging equipment.
- Conduct installation, maintenance, and repair work and run/lead installation crews.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Maintain open and informative communication with customers, including face‑to‑face and phone support.
- Build customer relationships through solution‑oriented communication and service.
- Identify and participate in sales opportunities such as maintenance plans, retrofits, spare parts kits, or replacement equipment.
- Provide service reports, parts quotes, tech‑stock inventory, and expense reports to the service manager promptly.
- Document, label, and return defective parts resulting from repair.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Work as part of local and national teams to provide efficient service to all accounts.
- Supervise and train junior maintenance staff.
- Exercise firm knowledge of case erectors, stretch, and shrink film equipment.
- Perform film audits and identify film issues and resolutions.
- Work independently and lead a team effectively.
- Complete and pass all factory certification courses as the Field Service Training Program dictates.
- Provide excellent written and oral service call reporting.
- Utilize basic PLC skills to write simple logic and make program changes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Salesforce CRM.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date driver’s license, registration, insurance, and good driving record.
- Operate a forklift and use a smartphone for required applications.
- Supply and maintain personal tools and test equipment with proper calibration.
- Lift and carry a toolbox weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Associate’s degree or higher in mechanical or electrical field, or 5+ years of relevant experience with secondary packaging equipment.
- PLC experience.
- Efficient troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical components on industrial packaging equipment.
- Desire to learn, practice, and deliver high‑quality customer service.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience with repair or packaging field products a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
- Electrical, pneumatic certifications or aptitude; mechanical, equipment programming, PLC or military background a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Forklift operation capability.
- Computer proficiency for reports and data entry.
- Smartphone use for job‑related applications.
- Flexibility to travel.
- Valid passport for factory & service training if required.
The pay range for this role is $60,000 - $90,000. In addition to base pay, Brady
