Low Voltage Cable Technician - Structured Cabling & Fiber Installation in Data Centers
Milwaukee, WI
$20-$24/hr

Responsibilities
  • Install Cat6 network cabling and pre-terminated fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode) in active data center environments
  • Work with LC and MPO fiber connectors for high-performance network connectivity
  • Dress, route, and organize cables using proper wire-management standards, including ladder racks and cable trays
  • Rack and stack network switches, servers, and additional data center hardware
  • Accurately label all cables and components to maintain clean documentation and organization
  • Read and interpret data center layouts, rack elevations, network diagrams, and technical blueprints
  • Ensure all work follows industry standards for quality, safety, airflow, and reliability
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in data centers or similar technical environments
  • Proven experience installing Cat6 and fiber optic cabling (pre-terminated experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with LC and MPO connectors
  • Working knowledge of telecom and data networking infrastructure
  • BICSI, lift certifications, and OSHA training are a plus
  • Must have basic hand tools and required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and workmanship
  • Willingness to travel locally within Wisconsin as needed
