Interstate Power Systems is looking for First and Second Shift Journeyman Diesel Truck Mechanic/Technician(s) for our Butler, Wisconsin location. We are currently seeking Journeyman Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) who specialize in Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT products, MTU and more. We offer highly competitive wages.
A Journeyman Diesel Technician will be a resident expert within their assigned field. They will work a job from start to finish independently from assignment, with expertise on all internal systems within their job scope. A Journeyman mentors other employees by providing training and guidance on the use of internal systems. They proactively identify improvements, respond in times of need, and are available to the service team.
A Journeyman will have more than 5 years of experience as a mechanic in the heavy‑duty truck industry.
Diesel Technicians will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related components in trucks, buses, and other heavy‑duty vehicles. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostic skills, and a passion for working with diesel engines. Most repairs take place at customer locations or roadside.

- Repairing and maintaining diesel engines and diesel components used in various vehicles and equipment.
- Accurately diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and perform necessary repairs.
- Communicate effectively with peers, foreman, and service team regarding repairs.
- Perform quality control work to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
- Keep paperwork updated and hand it in upon completion.
- Meet requirements for necessary certifications.
- Valid driver's license (bonus compensation for CDL holders).
- 5+ years as a heavy‑duty diesel truck mechanic.
- Good work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability.
- Excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG
