Description
The Manufacturing Systems Maintenance Technician II installs new equipment and ensures functionality; adjusts and maintains equipment through troubleshooting and preventative maintenance; and assists with other projects relating to building repairs, maintenance, and new construction.
Responsibilities- Performs preventative maintenance checks and inspection of assigned equipment.
- Records routine maintenance checks as required, documenting any problem areas.
- Installs new and used equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
- Diagnoses mechanical problems checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs to make the necessary corrections.
- Designs new equipment or structures to aid in the repair or maintenance of machines, mechanical equipment, or building constructions.
- Tests equipment for proper operation after repairs, changeovers, or extended down time.
- Prepares lists of materials needed for preventative maintenance or minor repairs.
- Creates project lists for small scale jobs.
- Safely troubleshoots and repairs machine electrical wiring.
- Reports findings to senior technicians and System Coordinator and takes appropriate action as instructed.
- Abides by Dura Tech’s lock-out-tag-out policy.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in electronic, mechanical or related field preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in machine required.
- Experience using a wide range of hand and power tools in maintenance, mechanical or carpentry trades required.
- Proficient experience in drafting, electrical troubleshooting, and installation, mechanics and machine fabrication, HVAC, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Experience using technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Basic welding skills.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify possible solutions.
- Ability to work well with diverse groups of people and be able to function independently of direct supervision.
- Ability to work outside regular working hours on an as-needed basis.
- Ability to interact with all personnel in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
- Ability to work independently without continued support from others.
- Ability to identify, operate and utilize results from DMM’s.
- Ability to identify, operate and utilize results from megohm meters.
- Ability to identify, operate and utilize results from thermal imaging cameras.
