Job DescriptionThis role leads commercial and industrial painting projects for both new construction and existing buildings within a 40-mile radius of Milwaukee. You will supervise and perform interior and exterior painting, focusing primarily on interior walls, using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to apply a variety of coatings to industrial and commercial facilities. You ensure high-quality finishes, efficient project execution, and a safe, well‑organized jobsite while working closely with a field team.
Responsibilities- Lead and participate in commercial and industrial painting projects for new construction and existing buildings within a 40-mile radius of Milwaukee.
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, masking, patching, and performing all necessary prep work before painting.
- Apply paint and coatings to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns, including HPLV airless sprayers on large industrial projects.
- Perform detailed cutting‑in work without using tape, ensuring clean lines and professional finishes on all surfaces.
- Oversee jobsite setup and cleanup, ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are organized, maintained, and safely stored.
- Coordinate and work within a team whose size varies depending on project scope, helping to allocate tasks and maintain productivity.
- Monitor project progress and quality, ensuring work meets specifications, deadlines, and safety expectations.
- Support and train less experienced painters on proper techniques, equipment use, and jobsite best practices as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working on active construction and occupied commercial sites.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members about project status, issues, and resource needs.
- Work occasional extended hours and some Saturdays to meet project schedules and complete work on time.
- At least 3 years of professional painting experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of commercial painting experience.
- Proficiency with interior and exterior painting for commercial and industrial projects.
- Ability to perform or quickly learn airless spraying techniques, including the use of HPLV airless sprayers.
- Skilled in brush and roller application for a variety of surfaces and coatings.
- Ability to perform precise cutting‑in without using tape.
- Experience with jobsite preparation, including masking, surface prep, and protection of surrounding areas.
- Experience with jobsite cleanup and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment on active construction and occupied facilities.
- Reliability to work early‑morning shifts and overtime as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience painting multi‑family residential buildings.
- Experience painting office buildings and similar commercial environments.
- Previous foreman or crew lead experience overseeing painting projects.
- Comfort working on a variety of industrial and commercial job sites with changing team sizes and project scopes.

Core hours are typically day shift, around 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with flexibility depending on job requirements and regular opportunities for overtime, including some Saturdays.
