Department: Laser Service

Location: Milwaukee, WI

What you’ll do
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Mitsubishi laser machinery at customer locations.
  • Conduct thorough mechanical/electrical inspections, including teardown, rebuild, calibration, and adjustments.
  • Provide remote troubleshooting by phone to quickly triage issues when appropriate.
  • Communicate findings, repair timelines, and outcomes clearly and professionally.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and block diagrams to guide accurate repairs.
  • Document service work, results, and parts used with precise detail.
  • Submit complete, accurate expense reports on time.
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, and service vehicles in top working condition.
  • Support additional tasks that improve customer satisfaction and team operations.
What you bring
  • Knowledge of machining, manufacturing processes, or industrial equipment.
  • Skill with diagnostic/measurement tools: voltmeters, multimeters, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Comfort using Windows computers and service applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working at heights when required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel extensively Monday–Friday.
Preferred background
  • Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, or related discipline.
  • Track record resolving electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Proficiency reading machine manuals, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with electrical measurement tools (e.g., voltmeter, oscilloscope).
  • Experience with precision tools (e.g., indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges).
Work environment
  • Primarily indoors at customer facilities; exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and industrial conditions.
  • Frequent driving/travel using a personal vehicle or company‑approved rental; costs reimbursed per policy.
  • Occasional overtime.
  • Safe motor vehicle operation required.
Physical demands
  • Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, standing, and hand‑intensive tasks.
  • Lift/carry up to 20 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Push/pull equipment up to 50 lbs.; heavier items may use carts or mechanical aids.
  • Good visual acuity, including color recognition.
