Low Voltage Cable Technician

Position SummaryThe Low Voltage Cable Technician is responsible for assisting with the onsite installation of various types of low voltage cabling systems, including Cat6 data, SM and MM fiber, security and paging cables. We are looking for level 1 and level 2 technicians, based on experience.
Job Responsibilities- Prepare pathways and j-hook supports for new cabling system installation
- Pull copper, coaxial and fiber optic cable in various types of environments
- Terminate data cables and install faceplates
- Terminate data cables on patch panels
- Assist with build out of data closets – installing ladder rack, cable trays, data racks and rack-mount equipment
- Assist with testing copper cable installations and learn to use testing equipment
- Learn how to read construction prints and assist with identifying cabling pathways
- Comply with all building codes and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with Technicians, Foreman, Field Supervisors and other coworkers about project status
- Complete daily timesheets, expense reports, mileage reports, and other job-related paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Basic industry knowledge is preferred
Ability to travel, work varied hours and perform on call duties, as needed
Ability to identify and distinguish colors
Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable
Work is performed at the customer's job sites.
