Building Maintenance Tech

Property development and management company is looking to hire an experienced Building Maintenance Tech to manage two residential buildings on the east side of Milwaukee. These buildings are 2-3 years old and Class A properties. The Tech will be responsible for all basic plumbing, HVAC, and electrical repairs and for unit turns.

Responsibilities of the Building Maintenance Tech:

• Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion
• Must be courteous, polite and efficient at all times
• Preparation of vacant units for occupancy including coordination of third party vendors
• Estimate time and extent of repairs
• Perform routine preventive maintenance
• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents
• Maintain material and supply inventory
• Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary
• Available to respond to emergency calls after hours

Requirements Qualifications of the Building Maintenance Tech:

• Must be a self starter
• Experience in maintenance or other related fields (5+ years)
• Ability and skills in using maintenance tools and equipment such as drills, saws, voltage meters, drain cleaner, snow blowers, etc.
• HVAC, electrical and plumbing knowledge necessary
• EPA Certification preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blue prints
• Ability to apply common sense
• Ability to adjust work load and shift priorities when required
• Reliable transportation and valid
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Physically capable of lifting at least 50 pounds
• Possess a valid driver's license and insurance
• Deadline and detail-oriented
