Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Description
This role focuses on performing routine preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and building systems within commercial and industrial facilities. The Facilities Maintenance Technician ensures that equipment and building infrastructure operate safely and efficiently by addressing maintenance needs, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating closely with the facilities team.
Responsibilities- Perform routine preventive maintenance on various mechanical systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Address facility maintenance needs, including plumbing, pipe fitting, rebuilding pumps, and basic mechanical system servicing.
- Carry out low-voltage electrical repairs and basic electrical maintenance tasks.
- Perform HVAC-related maintenance and repairs as needed to support facility comfort and functionality.
- Complete general building maintenance tasks such as drywall repair, painting, and carpentry work.
- Collaborate with the facilities team to plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot equipment and system issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Record all maintenance activities accurately, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Support service work in commercial and industrial facilities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Follow safety procedures and best practices while working with tools, equipment, and building systems.
- Minimum 2+ years of facilities maintenance experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of basic plumbing experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of basic HVAC maintenance or repair experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of basic electrical maintenance experience, including low-voltage work.
- Minimum 2+ years of drywall repair and painting experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working in a commercial or industrial facility.
- Hands‑on skills in carpentry and general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and building system issues effectively.
- Strong skills in facilities maintenance, including servicing equipment and rebuilding pumps.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a facilities team.
- Attention to detail for accurately documenting maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical diploma is a plus.
- Experience performing service work across multiple facility locations.
- Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing maintenance priorities.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate work with team members and stakeholders.

Work EnvironmentThis is a first‑shift role with a typical schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., meeting at the shop at 7:00 a.m. each day. Overtime is available as needed, and team members generally work approximately 45–50 hours per week. The position involves travel within roughly a 2.5‑hour radius, with drive time fully paid. A company vehicle is provided for travel, and tools are supplied to support your work.

This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58,240.00 – $72,800.00 per year.
