Job Title:
Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician ensures that production machinery and building systems remain fully operational, safe, and reliable so that output and quality standards are consistently met. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment, as well as key building mechanical and electrical systems.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure assigned production machines are fully production ready so operational output and quality standards are maintained.
Perform preventive maintenance on production machines, components, and tools, including blowers, motors, pneumatics, electronics, and conveyor systems.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair problems with oven systems, induction furnaces, and automated/semi-automated manufacturing machinery to ensure production readiness.
Minimize downtime by training and informing production workers on routine preventive maintenance techniques while maintaining compliance with procedures and standards.
Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.
Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for irregularities, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Evaluate and repair devices using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools in a safe and controlled manner.
Examine form, fit, and function of parts and determine changes in dimensional requirements using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
Inspect, maintain, repair, and replace building mechanical and electrical systems as needed to support facility operations.
Work with access control systems, HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, fire prevention systems, and other building mechanical and electrical systems as required.
Complete daily maintenance tasks through work order forms, demand and preventive activities, and other assignments provided by the maintenance leadership team.
Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment when necessary to restore equipment functionality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams committed to excellence, safety, and continuous improvement in maintenance and production processes.
Degree in industrial maintenance or a similar discipline and maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of the principles of electricity and PLC controls, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, switch gears, transformers, and power distribution.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair PLCs, including Siemens and Schneider drives and controls, servos, and variable frequency drives.
At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing PLCs, servos, and VFDs.
At least 2 years of experience working with pneumatics and hydraulics.
At least 2 years of experience with switch gears, transformers, and power distribution.
At least 2 years of experience resolving mechanical issues on industrial machinery.
At least 2 years of experience performing preventive maintenance on complex automated production machines.
Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively through email.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also contribute effectively in a team environment.
Associate degree (required).
Ability to commute to Hartland, WI (required).
Skills & Qualifications
Hands‑on experience with blowers, motors, conveyor systems, and other production equipment components.
Familiarity with oven systems, induction furnaces, and automated/semi-automated manufacturing machinery.
Experience using hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools, and machine shop equipment for repair and fabrication tasks.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
