Scenic Carpenter

We are currently hiring Scenic Carpenters in Milwaukee, WI for upcoming projects. Pay is $30- $35 per hour based on experience and skillset. The Scenic Carpenter is responsible for constructing and installing platforms for exhibits and decks in a museum setting. This role focuses on precision craftsmanship, reading plans, and preparing materials for installation.

Shop Carpenter Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and project specifications
• Measure, cut, and assemble materials based on blueprints or shop drawings
• Operate machinery (saws, routers, sanders, drills, etc.)
• Construct and installing platforms for exhibits and decks in a museum setting
• Inspect materials for quality and ensure accuracy of finished products
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and field teams
• Perform repairs or modifications to existing structures or components
• Follow all safety procedures and company standards

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a carpenter or scenic carpenter
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods

Preferred

Skills:

• 6+ years of professional carpentry
• Scenic carpentry background
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
