Capital Transmission Trimmer/Operator (Full‑Time+ Non‑Exempt)
Payrate: $36.05 – $44.22 per hour

- Trim and/or remove trees using ladders, powered trimmer lifts, or ground tools; cut branches or trunk sections and lower them with lines.
- Use wedges, sledges, and chainsaws to fell trees or cut and split logs.
- Spray stumps and brush with hand‑spraying equipment to prevent regrowth.
- Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, debris, or feed brush into a wood chipper.
- Repair slight damage to lawns, fences, and walkways caused by tree trimming.
- Service gasoline, air, hand‑powered tools, and other equipment.
- Relay hand signals, direct traffic, drive, and operate trucks and equipment; keep work area clear and orderly; help train new employees.
- Perform other related work as assigned by superiors.
- Safeguard employees and the public from hazards; cooperate with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways; set up barriers, warning signs, flags, and markers; trained to perform tree and bucket rescue.
- Inspect and ensure proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and equipment; request repair or replacement as necessary; maintain good housekeeping.
- Work around hazardous equipment, energized power lines, and in all temperatures and weather; exposure to nature, hearing protection, and varying heights.
- Work on uneven terrain, at varying heights, with falling limbs, and traffic hazards.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods.
- Ability to wear necessary PPE.
- Ability to safely drive a company vehicle and enter/exit it many times per day.
- Ability to endure exposure to all weather while completing tasks.
- Traverse various terrains.
- Read, write, and comprehend job instructions.
- Work with hands above head for extended periods.
- Walk, climb, and work from ladders, uneven, and slippery surfaces; handle equipment or materials under unfavorable weather while maintaining safety.
- No fear of heights.
- Transportation to/from the show‑up location.
- Lift, move, and maneuver heavy weights up to 50 pounds infrequently; 10 pounds frequently.
- Endurance for standard eight or ten‑hour days; ability to work long hours, overtime, holidays, emergencies, weekends; subject to call‑out.
- Good vision for judging distances and coordinating equipment.
- Operate and service all required tools and equipment.
- Good hand‑to‑eye coordination.
- Transportation to/from the start‑up location.
- Affiliation with local union.
- No experience required.
- Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
- Driver’s License Required.
Rare (less than 10%): Sitting, kneeling, crawling, color vision, climbing stairs.
Occasional (up to 33%): Stooping, squatting, climbing on/off trucks, climbing ladders, pushing, reading.
Frequent (up to 66%): Carrying, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs., balancing, body‑twisting, hearing/speech range, lifting up to 10 lbs., manual dexterity, reading, speaking clearly, walking.
Continuous (up to 100%): Standing, sense of touch, gripping, seeing distant, reaching, range‑of‑motion, depth perception, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., climbing poles.
SafetyDue to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirement to work with hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance, maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, withstand exposure to all weather, wear PPE, enter/exit vehicles frequently, and traverse various terrain. Employees must communicate professionally and complete conflict handling.
