Field Service Technician
Hydraulics Experience a MUST
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and motors at customer locations and in‑house.
- Travel to customer locations to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems and related equipment.
- Install and set up new hydraulic systems, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and prevent breakdowns.
- Build, install, and test hydraulic hoses to meet system specifications.
- Accurately document all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
- Efficiently schedule and prioritize tasks while traveling and keep track of tools and spare parts.
- Perform mechanical tasks using power equipment, measuring devices, and hand tools.
- Perform minor electrical wiring as needed.
- High school diploma or GED; 3–5 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Fluid power certifications or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in the English language. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and to explain technical issues clearly to clients and team members.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Fluid Power certifications or willingness to obtain.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Hydraulic System Expertise:
Ability to install, maintain, and repair hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and motors. - Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:
Skilled in identifying and resolving hydraulic failures quickly. - Mechanical & Electrical Knowledge:
Understanding of related systems (electrical controls, pneumatics). - Reading Schematics:
Ability to interpret hydraulic diagrams and technical manuals. - Safety Compliance:
Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe handling of hydraulic fluids. - Ability to pass a DOT non‑CDL physical.
- Competence with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Metal fabrication and welding:
Ability to read measuring equipment, basic welding, and fabrication techniques. - Travel readiness:
Comfortable with frequent travel. - Ability to learn new hydraulic technologies and systems.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with clients on‑site.
