Position: MKE Full Time Auto Mechanic

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for the safe and efficient repairing and rebuilding of airport service vehicles, including support trucks, stationary carts, tankers, and hydrant trucks. The mechanic will inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles and perform repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling and mechanical systems. The maintenance team ensures our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventive care for equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment, ensuring all work is performed safely and in support of established procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles and perform repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling and mechanical systems.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual quality control checks on refueling equipment and maintain maintenance records.
  • Provide preventive care for equipment and timely repairs to support effective aircraft services operations.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment in accordance with local health, safety and security policies, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Hydrate electric equipment according to the Hydration Schedule.
  • Program and understand the functions of the Rapid Charger, including the Battery Monitor and Identification Device (BMID).
  • Perform accident inspections on involved equipment.

Qualifications
  • Must have 2 to 4 years of diesel mechanic experience or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must have authorization to work in the USA.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
  • Must be comfortable lifting and moving up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • All mechanics are required to perform duties of the other positions as needed to meet operational requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airport badges.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
