Job DescriptionFire Alarm Systems Service Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems, inspecting, testing, operating, and maintaining components according to customer operational requirements. You will also mentor less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge‑sharing. As the face of Siemens, your expertise and regular interaction with customers help keep buildings and inhabitants safe.
Responsibilities- Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
- Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs.
- Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality; report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material.
- Identify code and non‑conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards.
- Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects.
- Plan work with mentor, Lead Technicians, and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively.
- Experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
- Mid‑level – 1+ year of experience.
- Must be able and willing to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, tablet, and carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
- Entry level – must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 18 months.
- Mid level – must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 2 within 12 months.
- Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
- Experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
- Entry level – 0–6+ months.
- Mid level – 1+ years.
- Ability to read/understand design and construction documents.
Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits. Pay range for this position is $49,195 – $84,334 annually; actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
