The Center for Veterans Issues, Inc. (CVI) is looking for a dependable, skilled, and mission-driven Maintenance Worker to keep our properties safe and welcoming for the Veterans we serve.

- Complete apartment turnovers, typically within two weeks
- Perform general carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and landscaping work
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems for maintenance or safety concerns
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and assigned projects on schedule
- Prioritize, track, and update work orders in Buildium
- Maintain tools and equipment in clean, safe, working condition
- Provide regular updates to maintenance and program leadership
- Travel between CVI locations as needed
- Participate in shared on-call duties and respond to maintenance emergencies
Maintain at least 90% of assigned tasks completed on time, high participation in preventive maintenance, full compliance with safety and tool‑care requirements, reliable attendance, and growing proficiency in Buildium.
Physical and Work RequirementsThis role requires prolonged standing and walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and working in tight or elevated spaces. Candidates must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 100 pounds. The position is performed indoors and outdoors across multiple locations and varying weather conditions.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous maintenance, repair, construction, or related experience
- Valid driver’s license
- General carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills
- Confidence using hand and power tools
- Basic proficiency with tablets, smartphones, laptops, and electronic work‑order systems
- Flexibility and reliability to respond to changing priorities and occasional emergencies
