This role focuses on installing HVAC ductwork on commercial projects, working alongside experienced journeyman partners. You will fabricate and install duct systems on site using hand tools, contributing to high-quality mechanical installations for a growing contractor with a strong presence in the commercial market.
Responsibilities- Install HVAC ductwork for commercial projects in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Use hand tools to fabricate and assemble ductwork on site, ensuring accurate measurements and proper fit.
- Work closely with journeyman-level partners to complete duct installations efficiently and safely.
- Assist with layout, routing, and placement of duct systems to support overall project timelines.
- Inspect installed ductwork for proper alignment, secure connections, and adherence to quality requirements.
- Follow safety procedures at all times, including the proper use of hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.
- Coordinate with project teams and other trades as needed to maintain smooth workflow on job sites.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe, and organized condition.
- At least 1 year of experience working as an installer of HVAC systems.
- Hands-on experience installing HVAC ductwork, preferably on commercial projects.
- Ability to use hand tools to fabricate and assemble ductwork on site.
- Experience working effectively with journeyman-level partners or within a field installation team.
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems and duct routing in construction environments.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.
- Willingness to work on active construction sites and adapt to changing project needs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Service experience in HVAC will be considered and is viewed favorably.
- Commercial HVAC installation experience is preferred.
- Residential HVAC installation experience will also be considered for candidates looking to transition into commercial work.
- Experience with cooling systems, generators, or project coordination is an advantage.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple trades, including electrical and low-voltage teams.

WorkEnvironment
You will work for a large, non-union HVAC contractor that also operates electrical and low-voltage divisions, providing exposure to a broad range of building systems. The organization has doubled in size since 2015 and continues to secure major projects, offering a steady pipeline of work. Job sites are active commercial construction environments where safety is a priority. You must wear a hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes while on site.
Work is hands-on, field-based, and team-oriented, with frequent collaboration across different trades.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $30.00/hr.
