Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Technician role based in Milwaukee, WI. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on building systems, equipment, and units across residential and commercial properties. Daily tasks include diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, completing work orders, conducting preventive maintenance, and assisting with unit turns and common area upkeep.

The role also involves maintaining safety standards, coordinating with property management and vendors, keeping accurate maintenance records, and providing professional, respectful service to residents and tenants. The Maintenance Technician may participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance needs.

Qualifications

  • Strong equipment maintenance and industrial maintenance skills for building systems and property infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintenance & repair for mechanical, electrical, and basic plumbing issues.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, manuals, and safety procedures; basic computer or mobile device skills for maintenance software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training in building maintenance or a related field is beneficial.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations are a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between properties as needed; capability to lift, carry, and perform physical tasks safely.
