What a typical week looks like

From Monday–Friday, you’ll be on the road supporting customers across the United States as the face of our laser service team. One day you’re calibrating a Mitsubishi laser cutter after a major retrofit; the next, you’re interpreting wiring diagrams to isolate an intermittent fault and getting production back on schedule. Travel is mainly regional, though nationwide trips (and the occasional international assignment) do arise.

We invest in comprehensive training so you can build a long‑term career in advanced machinery and manufacturing technology.

Core responsibilities
  • Visit customer facilities to diagnose, troubleshoot, and restore Mitsubishi laser cutting equipment to optimal performance.
  • Execute mechanical and electrical evaluations, including disassembly/rebuilds, alignments, and precise system adjustments.
  • Deliver remote triage and guidance by phone when an on‑site visit isn’t immediately required.
  • Set clear expectations with customers regarding findings, timelines, and repair results.
  • Leverage schematics, wiring diagrams, and block diagrams to drive accurate fault analysis and repair.
  • Capture detailed service notes, parts used, and resolutions; submit accurate documentation and reports.
  • Complete expense reports promptly and accurately.
  • Care for company tools, test equipment, and service vehicles, ensuring readiness and safety.
  • Pitch in on additional tasks that elevate customer satisfaction and department efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Hands‑on familiarity with machining, manufacturing workflows, or industrial machinery.
  • Comfort using measurement and diagnostic tools: voltmeters, multimeters, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Proficiency with Windows‑based PCs and service software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable working at heights when needed.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
  • Willing and able to travel extensively Monday–Friday.
Education & experience (preferred)
  • Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, or a closely related field.
  • Proven capability diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Ability to read and interpret machine manuals, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.
  • Experience with electrical instrumentation (e.g., voltmeter, oscilloscope).
  • Experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges, and more).
Working conditions
  • Primarily indoors at customer sites; expect varying temperatures, noise levels, and typical industrial environments.
  • Frequent travel and driving using a personal vehicle or company‑approved rental; mileage or rental costs reimbursed per company policy.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely is essential.
Physical demands
  • Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, standing, and sustained hand‑intensive tasks.
  • Routinely lift/carry up to 20 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular pushing/pulling of equipment up to 50 lbs.; heavier loads may use carts or mechanical aids.
  • Strong visual acuity required, including accurate color recognition.
