Our client, a leading commercial property restoration company, is seeking to hire a Carpentry
Site Superintendent to their team in Milwaukee, WI
. This is a direct hire position that will pay $40-$50/hour (depending on relevant experience) and include annual bonuses, company vehicle, and a strong benefits package. We are seeking a candidate with 5+ years of commercial carpentry experience managing carpentry teams in the field.

Position Summary

The Site Superintendent is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily field operations on a single project while actively performing skilled carpentry work as needed. This position combines the project coordination, leadership, and customer communication responsibilities of a Superintendent with the technical trade expertise of a Carpenter. The Site Superintendent ensures that the project is completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and to company quality standards while delivering exceptional customer experience.

When large projects are not available, the role defaults to the carpentry position.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Leadership & Project Oversight
  • Oversee day-to-day operations on active job sites, ensuring work is completed according to scope, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Lead, coordinate, and support carpenters, technicians, and subcontractors on site.
  • Conduct daily site walkthroughs to monitor progress, workmanship, and safety compliance.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for customers, inspectors, and internal stakeholders.
Skilled Carpentry & Restoration Work
  • Perform hands-on carpentry work including framing, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, trim, and structural repairs.
  • Execute restoration techniques for properties damaged by water, fire, storms, or other losses.
  • Assist crews with complex or specialized construction tasks as needed to maintain project momentum.
Quality Control & Code Compliance
  • Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and correct deficiencies promptly to reduce rework and delays.
Scheduling, Productivity & Time Management

Manage daily work plans and task assignments to keep jobs on schedule.

Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to avoid downtime.

Adapt priorities as project conditions change to meet deadlines.

Customer Communication & Documentation
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with customers regarding progress, changes, and timelines.
  • Document work performed through photos, notes, reports, and change orders.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
Safety & On-Call Response
  • Enforce safety protocols and promote a safety-first culture on every job site.
  • Respond to emergency or on-call jobs as required, stabilizing conditions and preventing further damage.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and PPE.
Team Development & Professionalism
  • Lead by example with strong work ethic, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Mentor and support crew members by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Foster teamwork, clear communication, and a positive job-site culture.
Experience
  • Previous experience with both rough in (framing, flooring) and finished carpentry (millwork installation, molding, trim, cabinets, etc.).
  • Previous experience inside commercial carpentry or property restoration preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience leading carpentry crews or managing job sites in construction or restoration environments.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, restoration practices, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read scopes of work, plans, and project documentation.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform physical labor in varying environmental conditions.
  • Experience in property restoration (water, fire, storm, or catastrophe claims).
  • Supervisory or superintendent experience in carpentry, commercial restoration, or a construction setting.
Education
  • High School Diploma
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
