Position: Housing Navigator - Transition in Place (TIP)

Help Veterans Find More Than Housing-Help Them Find Home

Every Veteran deserves a safe, stable place to call home. As the Transition in Place (TIP) Housing Navigator, you will turn that belief into action by building relationships, opening doors, and connecting Veterans experiencing homelessness with quality housing and supportive services.

This is an opportunity to make a visible and lasting difference. You will work directly with landlords, property managers, shelters, community organizations, and Veterans to identify safe housing opportunities, expand referral networks, and create pathways from homelessness to long-term stability. Your work will not simply help Veterans secure apartments—it will help them regain independence, dignity, and hope.

What You Will Do Build Housing Opportunities

You will serve as a trusted partner to landlords, property managers, and housing providers throughout the community. By educating housing partners about the TIP program, Veteran support services, and the benefits of working with our organization, you will develop a strong network of property owners committed to helping Veterans succeed.

You will maintain an up-to-date database of available housing and community resources, cultivate at least 25 active landlord and property management relationships, and secure a minimum of five new housing partnerships each year.

Ensure Every Veteran Has a Safe Place to Live

Before a Veteran moves into a home, you will inspect the unit and surrounding property to ensure it meets all Department of Veterans Affairs, HUD, Life Safety Code, and TIP program standards.

You will confirm that each unit provides safe and private access, functioning sanitary facilities, appropriate food preparation and storage areas, secure building entrances, adequate outdoor lighting, and an environment in which a Veteran can live safely and independently.

Your attention to detail will ensure that 100% of Veteran housing files and units remain compliant with all applicable program requirements.

Reach Veterans Who Need Us Most

You will take the TIP program into the community by developing strong partnerships with shelters, service providers, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Continuum of Care organizations, and other agencies serving people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

You will help coordinate targeted outreach at shelters, community events, known encampments, Veteran stand-downs, and other locations where Veterans may need assistance. Through presentations, workshops, and referral training, you will ensure community partners understand how to connect eligible Veterans with the TIP program.

Support Long-Term Housing Stability

Your involvement will continue after a Veteran is housed. You will work collaboratively with program staff, landlords, and community partners to identify concerns, support successful tenancies, and help Veterans remain safely housed.

Quarterly follow-up will be documented for every housed Veteran, and all required data entry, reporting, and program documentation will be completed accurately and on time.

How Success Will Be Measured

Success in this position means maintaining strong and responsive housing partnerships, ensuring full compliance with VA, HUD, and TIP requirements, completing timely and accurate documentation, and helping Veterans achieve lasting housing stability.

You will attend at least 95% of required community housing meetings and internal staffings while building a reputation for professionalism, collaboration, responsiveness, and exceptional support among Veterans, landlords, community partners, and coworkers.

Be the Connection That Changes a Veteran's Life

This role is ideal for someone who is energized by meeting new people, developing community partnerships, solving housing challenges, and advocating for Veterans. It requires persistence, compassion, strong communication, careful attention to safety standards, and the belief that homelessness should never define a Veteran's future.

Join us in creating safe homes, stronger communities, and new beginnings for those who served our country.

What You Bring

You bring a strong commitment to helping Veterans overcome…
