Child Welfare Caseworker PRN - Casual, Part-time

We provide child well‑being services to help children live in a safe and nurturing environment. We help parents gain the education and guidance needed to improve their parenting skills so their children can remain with them.

We also support children who are placed with foster families until they can return home or become part of an adoptive family.

Under the direction of the Supervisor, this after‑hours position will provide the appropriate response necessary, including both virtual and in‑person, to address exigent placement needs, safety controls and crisis response needed after‑hours for both the In Home Services and Ongoing Services programs.

• Knowledge acquired through a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) or equivalent (Sociology, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling or Guidance & Counseling) required. Social Work certification preferred.
• One year of experience in the delivery of educational training, employment services, vocational counseling, social services or related field preferred. Child welfare experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.
• Requires a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, personal auto liability insurance coverage and the ability to be insured by the CHHS auto insurance carrier.
• Must use personal vehicle to transport children, complete in‑house car seat transporter training within one month of hire and re‑train biannually thereafter to maintain.
• You may need to respond in person – this is a part‑time on‑call position.
• The hours are Monday‑Friday: 5 PM‑10 PM; 7:30 PM‑12 AM; 11:30 PM‑8 AM. Saturday, Sunday and Weekday Holidays: 7:30 AM‑4 PM; 3:30 PM‑12 AM; 11:30 PM‑8 AM.
• Eligible shift differential and on‑call pay.
