Norris’ Group Care Programs include a Residential Unit for boys, a Residential Unit for girls, and a Shelter Unit, all providing treatment, educational, and therapeutic recreational services to youth ages 12 through 17 and their families. Position Summary

We are looking for a
* Weekend Only
* Youth Care Specialist to fill coverage gaps for our Boys Residential Care Program, Girls Residential Care Program, and Shelter Unit on the Mukwonago campus.

Training Requirement: All new hires must complete 160 hours of paid onboarding training during the first month of employment. Training is held Monday through Friday and includes a combination of 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m. shifts. Candidates must be available for this schedule before applying.

Essential Duties
  • Under the supervision of the Hall Supervisor, the Youth Care Specialist (YCS) is responsible for the care and supervision of youth at the River’s Edge Campus in all facets of their daily lives, including safety, well‑being, emotional and educational needs.
  • The YCS collaborates with team members to provide direct care, meal planning/preparation, effective engagement and supervision, transportation, behavior management, medication administration, recreation, and other therapeutic individual and group services in a structured setting.
  • Services promote the Norris mission and practice philosophy, applying a trauma‑informed care approach.
  • Maintains awareness, at all times, of the location and activities of youth.
  • Implements assigned treatment services, maintains accurate documentation, and upholds the daily routine of programs.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required;
    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral science preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with youth in the child welfare and/or juvenile justice systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated physical and mental skill to intervene and manage high‑risk behaviors according to Norris philosophy required.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver license required; certain infractions may disqualify applicants.

Special Notes / Instructions

Must be over 21 years of age and successfully complete a caregiver background check, fingerprint scan, physical exam, and drug screen. A regular, valid WI driver license is required.
