Position Details

38733 Aurora Sinai Medical Center - Healing Center

Employment Type:

Full time | Hours per week: 40

Schedule:

Weekday 3:00 PM‑11:30 PM, alternating first shift weekends (7:00 AM‑3:30 PM). When working a weekend, the prior Friday and following Monday will be off.

Pay Range: $25.30 – $37.95

Major Responsibilities
  • Provides initial crisis intervention for victims of sexual assault, including culturally specific care and medical/police accompaniment.
  • Meets with patients/clients in person or by telephone and supports them through the healing process, including survivor follow‑up calls.
  • Observes, listens, and assesses clients’ trauma reactions and helps develop personal safety plans.
  • Supports clients through personal and legal issues, crisis intervention, support groups, crime‑victim compensation information, and referrals to appropriate services.
  • Advocates with landlords, employers, educational institutions and community resources on the client’s behalf as needed.
  • Facilitates support sessions in collaboration with the abuse response team and provides support to the center hotline.
  • Maintains documentation, records, and pertinent statistics; assists with data collection and program evaluations.
  • Participates in direct service provision and support of volunteers.
  • Assists with program development, evaluation, improvement, planning, budgeting, and policy development.
  • Develops strong collaborative relationships within Aurora Health Care and the community and stays knowledgeable about community services and agencies that may assist clients.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age‑appropriate care and interprets client data to identify age‑specific needs.
Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required
  • A valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
Education Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or a related field.
Experience Required
  • Typically requires two years of experience working with clients who have experienced trauma, sexual abuse, and/or violence.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Demonstrated ability to assess client needs.
  • Knowledge of criminal justice, health care, and social service systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain community connections to resources.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously, attend to details, and solve problems.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have a car and be willing to make home visits.

  • Must have functional speech, hearing, and vision.
  • Must be able to work in a moderately stressful environment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and reach above shoulders frequently.
  • May be exposed to hazardous road and weather conditions.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
