Journeys Support Specialist

Job Overview

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of La Crosse is hiring a Journeys Support Specialist to serve the southeastern region of Wisconsin (Milwaukee and surrounding counties, reaching up to Sheboygan/Fond du Lac counties). This position will be responsible for planning, promoting, and coordinating activities and services for Wisconsin families impacted by adoption or out-of-home care, in accordance with program contracts.

• Organization and facilitation of family fun events, support groups, and/or networking opportunities for both caregivers and youth.

• Extensive outreach to relevant community organizations and resources throughout the region.

• Provision of support and referrals to individuals and families.

• Occasional evenings or weekends required for family events (about three times per month, on average).

• 40 hours/week hybrid position with regular travel and outreach throughout the region required.

• Background check, driver’s license, reliable transportation, driving record check, and proof of auto insurance required.

• Education–College degree in social work, human services or education preferred.
• Experience–Two years of experience or other relevant knowledge related to the area of adoption, foster/kinship care, or family services preferred.
