Lutheran Social Services seeks an Overnight Support Staff member to provide compassionate, awake-overnight support in our community and social services programs. This role monitors client safety, conducts regular wellness checks, documents observations, responds to crises, and maintains a calm, respectful environment in accordance with agency policies. Working within a mission-driven, faith-based, and client-centered culture, you will collaborate with on-call and daytime staff to support housing, behavioral health, and family service goals, while modeling dignity, respect, and social justice for all clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide awake-overnight supervision and support to clients in residential or shelter settings
  • Conduct regular safety and wellness checks and promptly respond to client needs
  • Monitor facility environment, addressing behavioral or safety concerns per policy
  • De-escalate situations and follow crisis intervention and emergency procedures
  • Accurately document observations, incidents, and services in shift notes and logs
  • Communicate key information to oncoming and on-call staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and trauma-informed environment for clients
  • Enforce house rules and program guidelines with empathy and consistency
  • Support client service plans by reinforcing skills and routines overnight
  • Uphold LSS mission, values, confidentiality standards, and professional boundaries
