** Resident Support Specialist

** Vets Place Central** , a transitional housing program serving Veterans experiencing homelessness.

In this role, you will provide weekend support, guidance, and supervision to residents while helping create a safe, structured, and respectful living environment. ** What You'll Do*
* ** Support Veterans Daily*
* + Build positive relationships with residents and provide day-to-day support.

+ Conduct routine wellness and safety checks.

+ Offer emotional support and assist with conflict de-escalation when needed.

+ Encourage resident participation in chores, life skills development, and community responsibilities.

+ Support residents in meeting program expectations and housing goals.

** Assist with Program Operations*
* + Complete accurate shift logs, incident reports, and resident documentation.

+ Support resident intake, orientation, and discharge processes.

+ Collaborate with case managers, clinicians, and community partners to ensure coordinated care.

** Maintain a Safe Living Environment*
* + Monitor facility security and safety.

+ Report maintenance concerns and safety issues promptly.

+ Enforce curfew procedures, visitor guidelines, and sign-in/sign-out requirements.

+ Help maintain clean and orderly common areas.

** Respond to Emergencies*
* + Follow established protocols for medical, behavioral, and environmental emergencies.

+ Respond appropriately to mental health crises, substance use incidents, or resident conflicts.

+ Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical boundaries at all times.

** Qualifications*
* ** Required*
* + Associate's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field.

+ CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain certification.

+ Experience supporting vulnerable or at-risk populations.

+ Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and spreadsheet use.

+ Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

** Preferred*
* + CBRF Certification.

+ Experience working in residential, shelter, behavioral health, social services, or community-based programs.

+

Experience with facility safety monitoring and incident reporting.

* + Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

+ Occasional bending, lifting, and carrying of up to 25 pounds.
