Your Role at BaxterThe Principal software Engineer in Baxter Cardiology is responsible for various Cardiology Software products development and support activities.
What you'll be doing- Architect and design the enhancements and bug fixes to Cardiology Software products.
- Develop software, write unit tests and perform code reviews.
- Work with Systems engineering and test teams on design requirements and verification tests.
- Work with product security team on identifying and resolving vulnerabilities.
- Support any customer escalations that have been reviewed and investigated by Tiers 1 & 2 support and need a design SME for further investigation to determine root cause.
- Support business unit goals.
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science or related field with 5+ years in software engineering developing Client/Server applications.
- Proficiency in C#, C++ for Microsoft .Net core and .Net Platform.
- Proficiency in Postgres database is preferred, though experience with other relational databases like MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle will suffice.
- Background in regulated industries preferred, especially medical devices with exposure to IEC 62304 and quality/regulatory collaboration.
- Strong software architecture, design patterns, SOLID principles, TDD, and CI/CD familiarity.
- Experience working in Agile environments using tools like Azure Dev Ops or Jira, and version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Proven track record of delivering technical solutions, solving complex problems, and working effectively with cross‑functional and multisite teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills, with a proactive mindset and willingness to mentor and drive team success.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $120,000-$165,000 annually. The range is intended to reflect an anticipated salary. Individual pay is based on location, skills, expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
