Ability to power up the robot and peripheral equipment such as power sources, coolant pumps, torch cleaners, and fume extraction units.
Be capable of servicing the robotic welding torch and wire feeding system. This includes servicing the torch, contact tips, liners, gas diffusers, insulators, nozzles, and changing the welding wire.
Have a basic understanding of the robot control panels so the robot can be brought back to operation after work has been performed inside the work cell. This includes resetting safety circuits and making sure the robot is in a safe position.
Have the ability to perform routine and preventative maintenance on torch cleaners, wire drives, torches, fixtures, and fume collection equipment.
Ability to call proper weld programs and an understanding of program data/details.
Load parts into fixtures, tack weld components, stack finished products.
Follow all WPS variables.
Maintain a clean and organized work area for optimal part/product flow.
Manage the progression of multiple weld jobs while keeping the system running efficiently and maximizing productivity (applicants’ current efficiency will be reviewed and considered).
Ability to visually inspect finished welds, touch up discontinuities, clean and grind spatter as needed.
Manually add welds where the robot can’t reach as needed.
Capability to document system problems and communicate them to the weld engineer or appropriate technician.
Have a deep understanding of system safety, this includes in and around the work cell.

Experience requirements:Minimum of5 years
GMAW (gas metal arc welding) experience OR 1 year experience with weld related degree
Have good mechanical aptitude.
Experience with AWSvisualweld inspectionacceptancecriteria.
Strong desireto drive productivity and quality.
Havegood written and oral communication skills.
TrainingRequired:
Complete Yaskawa basicoperationfor arc welding which covers(offsite)
Robot safety.
System power up/down.
Tool Center Point.
Motion types and control.
Coordinate system.
Obtain on the job instruction for all robotic peripheral equipment.
Continued education in robotic arc welding disciplines.
