Position: HIL Validation Engineer – Battery Management System (BMS)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain HIL validation test cases for Battery Management System (BMS) software.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and system-level testing on embedded BMS applications.
  • Configure and maintain HIL test benches using dSPACE, NI, ETAS, or similar platforms.
  • Validate battery management features including:
    • Cell Voltage Monitoring
    • State of Charge (SOC)
    • State of Health (SOH)
    • Cell Balancing
    • Thermal Management
    • Charging and Discharging Control
  • Analyze test results, identify software defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Develop and automate test scripts using Python, CAPL, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages.
  • Utilize CAN communication tools for network analysis, debugging, and validation.
  • Create detailed validation reports, test plans, and test documentation.
  • Support integration and verification activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in HIL validation.
  • Strong experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS).
  • Experience validating embedded software for automotive battery systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with HIL platforms such as dSPACE, ETAS, and Vector.
  • Experience with CAN communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of battery algorithms including SOC, SOH, cell balancing, and thermal management.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Test automation using Python, CAPL, or MATLAB scripting.
  • Strong debugging and root‑cause analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with automotive software development processes and the V‑Model.
  • Experience working with defect tracking tools such as Jira or ALM.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Lithium‑Ion battery systems.
  • Exposure to AUTOSAR‑based embedded software.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety.
  • Experience with Jenkins or CI/CD environments.
  • Understanding of ASPICE processes.
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
