Dev Ops Working Manager – Embedded Systems
Location:
Milwaukee, WI 53214.
Employment Type:
Permanent. Salary: $165,000 per year. Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote. Full benefits.
Seeking a working manager with strong technical depth in Dev Ops, build engineering, and embedded systems. This role blends hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities, enabling you to stay technical while mentoring a focused team of infrastructure developers. The position supports a global pioneer in industrial machine software and AI automation with a performance‑driven advancement track.
Responsibilities- Provide active technical leadership as a working team lead, contributing to the codebase, managing complex automated build architectures, and troubleshooting low-level systems.
- Direct daily standups, provide technical coaching, and utilize career-mapping tools to scale a specialized Dev Ops team.
- Optimize automation strategies for global software delivery, container deployment, and Infrastructure as Code script frameworks.
- Analyze real-time build performance metrics and automated testing logs to address infrastructure bottlenecks and improve compiler efficiency.
- Serve as a cross-functional liaison between embedded software divisions, quality assurance, and executive leadership to maintain a reliable, secure production stack.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Dev Ops, Build Engineering, or SRE roles with a solid software engineering foundation.
- Hands-on experience with low-level build environments, specifically Embedded Linux infrastructure.
- Strong ability to architect CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Working-manager mindset with a focus on peer code reviews, technical mentorship, and tactical project delegation.
- Stable, progressive work history with strong collaboration and long-term commitment to past employers.
- Must reside within a 45-minute daily driving radius of the Greater Milwaukee, WI area to support the hybrid onsite schedule.
