Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Highway Management/Supervisory staff, the primary role of Highway Maintenance Worker II is to perform unskilled or semi-skilled construction related labor in highway maintenance division on State, County and Interstate Highways.
Job Duties- Operate various forms of construction equipment including dual axle and tandem axle dump trucks, milling machines, front end loaders, vac‑alls, roller compactor, anti‑icing units, sewer jetter, tar kettle, and various mower sand bucket trucks.
- Check lights, fluids and overall vehicle condition; wash vehicles; maintain flail mowers, vac‑alls, tar kettles, arrow boards, road work signs, and hand tools.
- Apply chemicals, anti‑ice, salting, and perform snow plowing as part of snow removal operations.
- Perform other road maintenance tasks as assigned.
